Makiko Tada has been researching and teaching kumihimo braiding for five decades. This distinguished designer combines her engineering expertise and her passion for braiding to create innovative accessories and wearables. Makiko draws her inspiration from Andean and traditional Japanese braiding techniques, designing complex pieces with a variety of fibres from silk to metal.
