Open Alcohol Consumption

Open alcohol consumption refers to areas on Granville Island that are not part of an individual licensed restaurant bar or patio, where visitors 19 years + may bring their own bottle of wine or favourite craft beer from home, or purchase from one of our distilleries, sake makers, wine shops, breweries or restaurants.

May we suggest a great burger from Market Grill, and craft beer from Granville Island Brewery;  a lobster roll from the Lobster Man, with a cold glass of BC Pinot Gris from Liberty Wine Merchants; a selection of fresh chilled crab, shrimp, prawns and salmon, with a bottle of Artisan Sake, or a visit to Oyama to make your own charcuterie board with that special bottle you’ve been saving to share with friends, all while taking in the spectacular views and entertainment in the Public Market Courtyard, at the Chain & Forge Plaza, our newest outdoor event space under the Granville Street Bridge, or even inside the Public Market on a rainy day.

Granville Island permits “Open Alcohol Consumption” in the Public Market, Public Market Courtyard and Chain & Forge Plaza.

See below for locations and times and look for signage onsite that delineates the alcohol consumption permitted space.
