A short 5-minute film loop set in a dystopian future where the agricultural economy has collapsed due to rampant forest fires. A young woman in an abandoned orchard survives on nutrient-rich pomegranates and uses their leathery peels to fashion her clothing. Set in the near future where wild fires have devastated croplands, the film takes aim at the environmental impacts of climate change. Costumes created for the film will be on display.

Artist talk: Ms. Dextras will take a look at the reductive post-apocalyptic fictions depicted in Hollywood films and the need for alternative nuanced stories about the future that focus on the dignity and strength of survivors.
