Accessibility:
*Please note: Granville Island is a historic site. Much of the terrain is original to the industrial use once on the island. Please watch your footing and look for tripping hazards, uneven or perforated surfaces, and low barriers.
Granville Island Entrance
The island’s entrance is a wheelchair accessible route. Travelling from the intersection of Anderson St. and West 2nd Ave towards the Granville Island neon sign, you will find accessible ramps to access the pedestrian path under the Granville Street Bridge. At the intersection of Island Park Walk and Anderson Street, the pedestrian path briefly transitions into a wooden boardwalk extending to Vancouver Fish Company. Though the boardwalk is level with the paved pedestrian path, please be cautious in damp and wet weather conditions.
Granville Island Ferry Dock
The Public Market Dock is a dock offering moorage for visiting boats and Aquabus Ferries, directly behind the Public Market. The dock is accessed via accessible ramp next to Backstage Lounge. Aquabus: Over half of Aquabus’ fleet is wheelchair accessible. Please look for the wheelchair symbol at the front of the boat. Please call 604-689-5858 for questions regarding Aquabus accessibility. False Creek Ferries: Due to limited space on vessels, False Creek Ferries is only accessible for passengers with collapsible wheelchairs who can remain standing once on board. Please call 604-684-7781 for questions regarding False Creek Ferries accessibility.
Accessible Washrooms
Borrowing Wheelchairs
Granville Island has two wheelchairs available to borrow on a first come, first serve basis. These wheelchairs are available in the administration office. There is no fee associated with borrowing a wheelchair. There are three ways to borrow a wheelchair on the island: Find a security guard on the island who can bring you a wheelchair from the administration office. Call our 24-hour security at 604-315-3003 to bring you a wheelchair from the administration office. Visit the CMHC-Granville Island Administration Office, located on the 2nd floor of the Net Loft. The administration office can be accessed by elevator, located across the street from the main entrance of the Public Market. Our office is open 10 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday. Our front desk staff is reachable by phone at 604-666-6655 Monday to Friday from 9AM – 5PM or by email at [email protected].
Service Animals
Certified service animals are welcome anywhere on Granville Island, including inside the Public Market and Net Loft.
First Aid Station
First Aid Room and Baby Change Station is located inside the Public Market, beside Oyama Sausage and across from The Tuck Shop. Please contact security for first aid assistance at 604-315-3003.
Accessible Water Fountain and Water Bottle Refill Stations
The Public Market water fountain and water bottle refill station is located beside the Muffin Granny. The Public Market is open daily from 9 AM – 6 PM. The Net Loft water fountain and water bottle refill station is located inside the Net Loft, by the west entrance. The Net Loft is open daily from 10 AM – 6 PM.

HandyDART and Accessible Tour Bus Pick-up/Drop Off
The HandyDART pick-up and drop-off is located on Johnston Street at the corner of Johnston St. and Anderson St., east of the Public Market.
