CMHC-Granville Island Statement of Commitment:
CMHC-Granville Island is committed to ensuring that all visitors have equitable access to enjoying and participating in the diverse range of cultural and artistic experiences Granville Island offers. We are dedicated to taking a proactive and inclusive approach to the identification, prevention, and elimination of barriers to accessibility. Our mission is to foster a vibrant and diverse cultural hub where everyone can participate, explore, and revel in the island’s rich offerings, making it truly “the most inspiring public place in the world.”
*Please note: Granville Island is a historic site. Much of the terrain is original to the industrial use once on the island. Please watch your footing and look for tripping hazards, uneven or perforated surfaces, and low barriers.
Granville Island Entrance
The island’s entrance is a wheelchair accessible route. Travelling from the intersection of Anderson St. and West 2nd Ave towards the Granville Island neon sign, you will find accessible ramps to access the pedestrian path under the Granville Street Bridge. At the intersection of Island Park Walk and Anderson Street, the pedestrian path briefly transitions into a wooden boardwalk extending to Vancouver Fish Company. Though the boardwalk is level with the paved pedestrian path, please be cautious in damp and wet weather conditions.
