Get inspired to go outside to sketch your favourite neighbourhood spots or local heritage buildings and places with VHF’s newest workshop. Join artist Zandro Tumaliuan and immerse yourself in the urban landscape as you learn how to sketch with confidence some of Vancouver’s heritage buildings.
This event is perfect for all artists, from beginners to experienced sketchers, who are passionate about seeing Vancouver’s heritage buildings and urban landscapes come to life on their pages.
The three-hour program will include a brief introduction by Zandro, where he will share his insight as an artist and how Vancouver’s urban landscapes inspire him everyday! Bringing together the heritage of each sketching site, a member of VHF staff will share archival photos and information about each place.
The sketching portion of the day will include time in two different locations. Throughout this time, you will be given tips and tricks by Zandro to help you understand and document the scenes around you.
This event will take place outdoors at Granville Island and the surrounding area where ticketholders can engage with the buildings and landscapes around them. Details on the meeting location will be provided to registrants one week prior to the event.
Attendees are asked to bring: a black uniball fine tip pen, 3-5 pieces of white 8.5×11 paper (or a sketchbook) and a hard surface to sketch on. Coloured pencils are optional.
Registration will close on Wednesday, August 21st at 5pm or when sold out.
