Matthew Freed has been a fixture of the Vancouver craft scene for the past 20 years. He specializes in highly functional pottery – work that is meant to be used and enjoyed daily. Stylistically, his work is recognized for its simple elegance – a nod to Japanese ceramics with his unique spin of modern and masculine design. He has a wide array of pottery forms and glaze finishes that appeal to a large cross section of fans. In 2015, he was awarded the Circle Craft Gold Medal for Excellence in Craft.
