Boat for Hope benefitting Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC, is a fun-filled water expedition where children with disabilities and complex health care needs live out their favourite pirate adventure. The action-packed day begins with over 350 Variety kids and their families’ boarding boats docked at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and heading out into False Creek for a one-of-a-kind pirate adventure.
Boat for Hope is about more than just a day in the sun. It’s about letting kids be kids and bringing big smiles to their faces, many of whom may have never been out on the water or even on a boat before. And it’s all made possible through the generous support of local skippers, business communities and volunteers.
To mark Boat for Hope on June 8, volunteers will be selling raffle tickets on Granville Island to be in with a chance of winning a boat package from GA Checkpoint. Tickets are also available online at www.boatforhope.ca, all proceeds go towards helping BC kids.
