The creative community who lives in the DTES experiences the highest statistical rates of economic, health, and social challenges of any community in the country. However, the DTES also has the distinction of being informally recognized as the most artist-rich neighbourhood in Canada. The DTES Small Arts Grants Program reveals the diverse cultures and creative practices of marginalized and exceptional artists. Through our generous program supporters like CMHC Granville Island and the City of Vancouver, we are thrilled to share some of the work in the form of a transit shelter poster located at the entrance to Granville Island, that was created by recipients of a 2020-21 DTES Small Arts Grant Award with a Transit Shelter Ad Group Art Show.
