Let’s hop into a colourful and bright new year with LunarFest!
CMHC is partnering with the Asian-Canadian Special Events Association for this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations, to bring The Lantern City to Granville Island. In the fourth year of this city-wide project, with Granville Island’s support, the Asian-Canadian Special Events Association will be creating and curating six unique large-scale lanterns that will be installed in the outdoor courtyard of the Ocean Art Works Pavilion from Jan 20th – Feb 20th to mark the Lunar New Year, and extend over the Family Day weekend on Granville Island. This year’s lanterns feature three artworks from Arts Umbrella, celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with the theme: Year to Imagine. Find out more about each artist and their pieces on The Lantern City website, or visit the lanterns in person any time day or night between Jan 20th – Feb. 20th.
