Happy Hanukkah

Chag Sameach to our Jewish friends and neighbours.
Today, and for the next 7 days, we light our giant star in the Public Market courtyard blue in honour of Hanukkah. The reason Hanukkah (or Chanukah as it’s sometimes spelled) is celebrated for eight days, is in honour of the miracle of the oil that lasted eight days, when there was barely enough oil for a single day. Each day, one of 8 candles are lit by a single candle, known as the Shamash, on a nine-branched candelabra, while blessings are given and songs are sung. Our warmest wishes for a Happy Hanukkah.
