Get in the holiday spirit with this December itinerary.

Around the holiday season, it’s easy to save up your shopping and holiday activities. After all, doing it all in one day is definitely efficient. But if we’ve learned anything from hallmark movies, it’s that slowing down is the key to holiday joy. So, spread out the fun this season with this Granville Island 12-day itinerary.

Day 1

There’s no shortage of one-of-a-kind handmade pieces on Granville Island. So, to celebrate the start of cozy season, treat yourself to a new mug from Circle Craft Co-op or Daniel Materna Ceramics.

Day 2

Whether you’re into dramas or comedy, our theatre scene is truly unmatched. And that means you can easily snag a couple of great tickets from the Arts Club Theatre Company or The Improv Centre.

Day 3

What’s a show without dinner? On the third night of Granville Island, make sure to stop in at Tap+Barrel Bridges for a spectacular 3-course dinner.

Day 4

Okay, now it’s time to fully embrace the magic of the west coast holiday season by walking the seawall. Grab your partner, another couple, and four teas from Granville Island Tea Company to make it a double date.

Day 5

After a day of wandering in the fresh winter air, your skin might be feeling a little dry. So, make the next day all about skincare, and stop in at Gigi B to create a relaxing skincare routine. And to keep things on theme, why not make it a 5-step regimen?

On the sixth day of Granville Island, it’s time to get really festive. Wander Railspur alley with a hot drink from Off The Tracks Cafe and check out warm and fuzzy hats from Funk Shui Felt or a new book you can curl up with from Upstart & Crow.

Day 6

Day 7

Knitted items abound on Granville Island. On the seventh day, pop into one of our many shops selling handmade socks or visit Fibre Art Studio to get a few pairs—maybe one for every day of the week.

Have you ever heard of the rule of 8? Okay, okay, we just made it up. But in our humble opinion, that’s the perfect number of charcuterie board items. Spend this day perusing the options at Duso’s Italian Foods and Tenderland Meats.

Day 8

Day 9

On the ninth day of Granville Island, head out on an art crawl. To get you started, we’ve picked nine of our favourite local artist studios and shops: Studio 13 Fine Art, Amy Stewart, Janelle Tyler, Chi Cheng Lee, Jack Darcus, Darla Zary, Kingsmill Pottery, and Niche Gallery.

Between office parties and impromptu holiday get-togethers, you never know when you’ll need an extra present. And since chocolate has definitely earned its spot as a universal favourite, head to Rogers’ Chocolates to get a box of ten Victoria Creams or a few chocolate bars from Kasama Chocolate.

Day 10

Day 11

Speaking of last minute gifts, if you wander the Net Loft, we can guarantee you’ll find at least eleven little treasures to use as stocking stuffers, extra goodies in gift bags, or as holiday party favours.

Day 12

On the twelfth day of Granville Island, it’s finally time to relax with a mesmerizing light tour. For your last holiday hurrah, wander the streets and gaze up at all the twinkling lights. And as a bonus, try to pick your twelve favourite light displays. We know, we know it’s hard to pick just twelve.
